Cassidy H. Crough

Associate Attorney

"Never forget that even in your darkest hour, this too shall pass and you will be stronger and better off in the long run." - Cassidy H. Crough

Cassidy began her legal career in October of 2012 after having graduated from Pace University School of Law in 2012. But her love for the law began long before that in 2004 during her first visit to the courtroom. She had the opportunity to shadow an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) during a homicide trial and was hooked on the theatrics and drama of litigation. It was at that very moment that she knew she was destined to be a litigator. Shortly after graduation she accepted a job as an ADA at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. She embraced her new role as an ADA and immersed herself in it. Before long she was conducting jury trials, pre-trial hearings and bench trials day in and day out. Cassidy prosecuted everything from violent felonies to sex crimes, conducted countless bench trials and over twenty jury trials, secured over 75 indictments and numerous convictions during her 6 year tenure as an ADA.

During her time as a prosecutor she responded to homicide scenes, interrogated suspects and offered expert testimony in the fields of DNA analysis, ballistic evidence, controlled substances and emergency medicine. One of her most famous interrogations included a 2016 confession of a suspected cannibal who had brutally murdered his lover.

After the DA’s Office, Cassidy worked as a Legal Advisor for the Department of Homeland Security for three years where she worked on immigration and criminal matters alongside ICE and HSI agents.

But Cassidy knew there was something missing. She yearned to be back in the spotlight in the courtroom, the place where her talents truly shine. She wanted to return to a similar and yet even more intimate connection than the one she had with the crime victims she was tasked to protect earlier in her career. It was time to join the private sector where she could directly represent her own clients with the same vigor. In 2021 the Law Office of Dennis R. Vetrano, Jr., LLC was seeking to add a seasoned trial attorney of the highest caliber to accept the role of a divorce/family law litigation attorney. There began Cassidy’s time at DRV LAW. In typical Cassidy fashion she jumped right in. She has spent countless hours while at the Law Office of Dennis R. Vetrano, Jr., LLC perfecting her craft and honing her skills, truly living up to her motto, “I always over prepare. “ Since her start with DRV LAW Cassidy has handled all aspects of family court litigation from the initial client consultation up to and including trial/hearing. Cassidy has represented numerous clients in Family Court and Supreme Court regarding, including but not limited to, the following issues; family offenses (orders of protection), child custody and visitation, child/spousal support and equitable distribution. What clients appreciate most about Cassidy is her fearlessness. There is no case too big, no issue too complex or situation too challenging for her. This level of confidence provides our clients with a sense of calm knowing that Cassidy fully appreciates the gravity and the importance of their situation and is not intimidated by it.
